Naive English tourists in the Dutch city of Amsterdam have fallen victim to a series of practical jokes that Prime Minister Gordon Brown has described as “deeply hurtful, embarrassing, in bad taste and actually not very funny”. The incidents took place across Amsterdam and focused mainly on males.

John Edwards “It’s not right”

In the first incident John Edwards a 36 year old Millwall fan was sold what he thought was a bag of Cannabis by dutch teenagers. “So I see these foreign geezers dealing green, but it wasn’t green it was some parsley or something, it’s not right, innit. I’m down 50 pounds, the lads are smoking parsley and all that and the missus is gonna have me ‘ead for being such a numpty”. When asked why he bought what he thought was drugs on a street corner in a country where drugs are legal he replied “the best stuff is on the street innit, grimey shit innit”.

The second incident occurred at the Hjundenblek folk park where Edward Johns a 24 year old I.T consultant was chosen to take part in an audience participation excersize whilst on a tour of the park. “They singled me out because I was English, at least that’s why I think, they were probably jealous that we won the world cup in 1966?  after the audience participation excersize the tour guide approached him and wanted to the Edward for being such a good sport, he gave him what he described as a “symbol of masculinity in Dutch culture”

“I feel like a right twat now, I should have known it was a joke, how I could have mistaken giant wooden shoes for something masculine I’ll never know”

The final incident occurred when a Dutch citizen told an English tourist that all Dutch women were prostitutes, that English tourist has been summoned to appear before a Dutch court on July 6th for soliciting a police woman.
