Knowing You, Knowing Me – Shane Cunningham

Following on with our aim to share new talents and meet with people, todays ‘Knowing You, Knowing Me’ is with Shane Cunnigham.

1. Who are you?

My name is Shane Cunningham. I am an 18year old Comedy Impressionist from Galway.

2. How long have you being doing the gigs for?

I have been performing at various gigs since I was 16. it al started when I won a local  talent show, and did a lot of charity work. Due to school I was limited to the gigs I could do but now that I am finished I welcome all gigs where ever they may be.

3. How would you describe your act?

My act is performed in array of shows such as the Saturday night show, Vincent Brown, the late late  and reality shows like the Xfactor which each contain their own guests. at the start of my gig I appear as a person dressed up e.g Michael D Higgins or someone and with the addition of music I make it a night to remember and entertain my audience.

4. What impressions do you like to do?

I must say there’s nothing like a bit of wee Daniel O’ Donnell especially to get the mammy’s moving. But Brendan O’ Connor as-well as Katie Taylor and Jedward are all up there with the top favourites. I like each character as they all bring a different, interesting approach.

5. What future gigs have you got lined up?

At the minute its just private gigs such as weddings. but past gigs would have included the Helix Theatre, RTE Radio One with Funny Friday and the Mooney show. and loads of other private events.

6. Is there any person you’d love to do an impression of in front of?

I have impersonated Dathi o se and he loved it. Also our Taoiseach Enda Kenny. I would love to show Michael D Higgins as he often performed in the arts and would only love it.

7. Are you on Twitter?

I am yes, @shaneimpressions, but I mainly use facebook as my update page.

9. Do you have any video clips of you performing?

I am currently working on new videos, the stuff on Youtube is when I started out. the latest I have is Brendan’s trip to centra, which is added to this interview for everyone to enjoy.
